Corporate Response to Terrorism

The purpose of this course is to provide you with information, understanding and skills related terrorism, the types of weapons used and types of harm associated with terrorist attacks, and what to do in an emergency situation if a terrorist attack occurs.

Most people in the UK perceive international terrorism and chemical/biological weapons as the two most serious threats facing the country. Other types of terrorism considered are hijacking, assassination, suicide bombing, “dirty” bombing, major internet attacks and kidnapping/hostage taking

How Will I Get Assessed?

No formal assessment, however, an Alternative assessment may be designed by the teacher to gauge students’ understanding of material.

This may be a mixture of open-ended questions, written compositions, oral presentations, projects, experiments, and portfolios of student work. Also Performance tasks and Self- and peer-evaluation.

What Can I Do With This Qualification? What career opportunities and average salary?

Also designed for those who may be travelling to hostile environments or who may wish to have a deeper knowledge of terrorism. It is highly suitable for employers implementing a Duty of Care policy for employees to become more aware of terrorist threats and the appropriate security counter measures and plan accordingly.

As a Close Protection Operator, Most are self-employed. Earnings, depend on client/  company, length of the contract, the officer’s experience and the risks involved. Daily rates for CPOs/ low risk areas can be around £180 to £250 plus expenses.

CPOs/ high responsibility/ high risk areas can earn around £4/500 a day.
